The Parent-Child Home Program is an innovative, home-based literacy and parenting program for eligible families in Somerville with children aged 16 months to 3 years old. Trained Home Visitors visit families twice a week for 1/2 hour sessions over a two year period. In play sessions with the parent and child, the Home Visitor models verbal interaction and learning through play using carefully chosen books and toys which are donated to the parent to continue the interaction between sessions.
